What is this program and how does it work?

This is a research program to measure broadband Internet speeds provided to residential customers of internet service providers. The program works by utilizing your internet connection to make some outgoing speed tests periodically throughout the day. This data is then sent to our servers scrubbed so there is not identifying information contained.

How does the payment schedule work?

We make payments every month based on the number of days the device has been turned on and functioning normally. Every effort is made to support you in the event a device is no longer functioning. We utilize PayPal as the method of payment so all you need is to have a PayPal account and an email address to start earning.

Is it safe?

Yes this program and device are 100% safe and will not disrupt or affect your current Internet speeds. Our connections and data systems are completely encrypted and utilizing the most secure software available. Through thousands of participants we have encountered no compromises or issues of any sort.

Why do you need my address?

We need your address for us to ship you the device. If your device quits working or you would like to no longer participate we need to ship you the return label and box.

What information do you collect?

We collect basic speed test data such as, download speeds, upload speeds, latency, ip blocking, connection errors and request times. Our data is related to your general demographic (city level) and does not contain any personal information (the info we get from you is just for mailing the device and communication for support. We do not sell or release your information!

How long will the study last?

The study has been slated to last through 2019, however with new technology and government compliance this is always subject to change. We’re looking for long term participants in the study.

I have high speed internet and I’d like to participate how do I get started?

Just fill out the form on our signup page and you’ll receive a confirmation email and you can complete the three minute questionnaire. Once the questionnaire has been completed we’ll send you a confirmation and if everything looks right we’ll ship your device. Once the device arrives you simply plug it into the wall and your router and we will confirm and you’ll start earning that day.

My device isn’t working what should I do?

Please contact us at support@uniteresearch.com so we can expedite your support. A few things you can do for us ahead of time is try unplugging your modem, your router and the device from the wall. Then plugging back (in order) the modem, the router, and the device. You can also make sure the lights are all on and green as well as ensure the cables are all connected and secured.
